Contributing photographer Alexander Klimchuk died August 8, 2008, in Tskhinvali, South Ossetia while
covering the current conflict between Russia and Georgia. Klimchuk, chief of Caucasus Images, a photo
agency based in Tbilisi, was killed along with fellow journalist Giga Chikhladze (Alania TV) when they
attempted to pass a roadblock manned by South Osettian pro-independence fighters. Two other journalists
