US Marines Fox Company in Fallujah May 1st

Ahmed Abed Ali, 76, who just walked into a Marine sector, prays as Marines try to find out from their superiors if he's allowed to go through their lines to get to where he lived before the start of the siege of Fallujah weeks earlier in northwest Fallujah. The man was given a bottle of water by the Marines and they told him that he had to walk back south to find another way to his home.

Tensions in Fallujah

A man sits next to the blood of what he said was his brother, who was shot by a Marine sniper, while in the driveway where the family put the fatally wounded man in a car headed for the hospital during a battalion sized raid by the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment. The man was reported to be on a rooftop staring at Marines during their operation while on a cell phone when he was shot by the sniper.
