The Jefferson Jackson Dinner

The annual Jefferson Jackson Dinner is the biggest event for Democrats in the Iowa Caucus season and because it takes place in early November it is often credited with making or breaking a candidacy. All of the major candidates attended the event and spared no effort to pack the event, which was attended by 9000 people, with their supporters. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL), sensing an unprecedented opportunity to take his campaign to the next level, held a pre-dinner rally for what the campaign said was 3000 supporters, and then marched with his chanting supporters over to the auditorium where the dinner was held.
